An employee was installing acoustical ceiling tile while using a set of stilts to reach the ceiling. The right stilt broke, causing the employee to fall. The employee was injured because of the fall.
A construction safety analysis included a review of all relevant depositions and other discovery documents, reports, photographs, etc. SPA, inc. reviewed the discovery documents and relevant research materials, codes, and standards related to safety the responsibilities of the various employers in a multi-employer work site.
It was determined through the review of the discovery documents that the stilt broke due to a manufacturing defect and that the controlling employers on this multi-employer worksite were not responsible for the cause of the accident.
Results: Case resolved in a favorable manner.
