System Safety

The American Society of Safety Engineers, Dictionary of terms used in the Safety Profession, defines system safety as “an approach to accident prevention which involves the detection of deficiencies in system components which have an accident potential. The system safety engineer is oriented in terms of task performance and examines the interrelationships of all the components in a system with the objective of bringing most accident possibilities into consideration automatically and in an orderly manner.”

SPA L.L.C. utilizes this approach in most of its work. The following examples are specific systems safety projects performed by SPA L.L.C.:

  • Researched and developed proposed system safety program plans for the U.S. Air Force
  • Conducted a system safety analysis for the U.S. Navy
